Why Proxy IPs Get Blocked and How to Fix It #
When using proxy IPs to access certain websites, you may encounter blocked IPs, 403/429 errors, or frequent CAPTCHAs. Below are the common causes and practical solutions.
1. Why Do IPs Get Blocked? #
- Too many requests — Sending a large number of requests from the same IP in a short time
- Abnormal behavior patterns — Browsing speed far exceeding normal human behavior
- Multiple accounts on one IP — Logging into several accounts using the same proxy IP
- Low IP reputation — The IP was previously abused by other users (common with shared proxies)
2. Use Dynamic Residential IPs with Auto-Rotation #
This is the simplest and most effective solution. Jibao Proxy‘s dynamic residential IPs assign a new IP address for every request automatically — even if one IP gets blocked, the next request will use a fresh one.
Best for: web scraping, bulk operations, and any task requiring frequent IP rotation.
3. Reduce Request Frequency #
- Add random delays between requests (2–5 seconds recommended)
- Avoid hitting the same page repeatedly in a short window
- Mimic natural human browsing behavior
4. Switch IP Type #
| IP Type | Block Risk | Best Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| Dynamic Residential IP | Lowest | Web scraping, multi-account management |
| Static Residential IP | Low | Long-term fixed accounts |
| Mobile IP | Lowest | Social media, high-security scenarios |
| Datacenter IP | Higher | High-speed bulk tasks |
If your datacenter IPs are getting blocked frequently, consider switching to residential IPs or mobile IPs — these carry higher trust scores and are much less likely to be flagged.
5. Use an Antidetect Browser #
If you manage multiple accounts, pair your proxies with an antidetect browser (e.g. MuLogin, Multilogin). See our Antidetect Browser Setup Guides for tutorials.
6. Switch Target Region #
Some websites apply stricter scrutiny to IPs from certain regions. Jibao Proxy covers 200+ countries and regions — you can freely choose the target country and city when extracting proxies.
7. What to Do When a Static IP Is Blocked #
- Wait for the ban to lift — Some blocks are temporary (typically 24–48 hours)
- Replace with a new IP — Purchase a new static IP from the dashboard
